Installation

Download and extract the archive content.
Copy the file named APAStyle_vx.ddmmyyyy.dot to your Template Microsoft Installation folder.
Usually this folder is located in C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates.
To see this folder in Windows Explorer you have to set Show hidden files and folders option in Windows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> View.

Usage

To create a new document based on the APA Style template, from File menu choose New and from general templates list select APAStyle_vx.ddmmyyyy.dot.

What it does

The template is based on the free information found on the sites from Further Reading section.
The template contains styles for general purposes like: Headings, Title, Author/Affiliation, Running head, document body.
Please acknowledge that APA style format is double spaced, yet the actual template uses the single line spacing but provides also style for double line writing.
It has a main macro for inserting paper title, author(s), affiliation(s), running head, page header.

What it does not

It has no macros for automatically inserting:
  • footnotes
  • figures and figure captions
  • tables
  • citations
  • references
